Qualifications for Maximus Process
Are you wondering if you financially qualify to receive Home and Community Based Services? You may qualify for HCBS if you meet the following criteria:
- You have a chronic/long-term condition. A condition is considered to be long-term if it has lasted for longer than six months.
- You have a monthly income of less than $2,163.
- You have less than $8,000 in countable resources or assets. These can include
savings, property, bonds, etc.
What is the Maximus Process
The Maximus process is the application process to apply for homecare services. It consists of
several steps:
- Calling the PA Independent Enrollment Broker
(PA IEB) - 2 Home Visits
- The First to talk about needs and abilities and complete the Medical Assistance Application
- The Second to do a Functional Eligibility Determination
- You will need to provide your doctor’s information to PA IEB in order for them to assess your eligibility
- The application is sent to your Local County Assistance Office for Final Determination (they may ask for financial documentation and information in order to determine your eligibility)
- Selecting a Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)
- The 3 MCO’s listed below currently accept the OBRA Waiver. You do not have to currently be enrolled, but instead will enroll one your eligibility status has been determined.
